The Men in Blue are taking on the five-time world champion in Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 19th November. After being invited to bat first, the hosts were given the first jolt early in the innings with Shubman Gill’s wicket. The young Indian opener departed having scored only four runs, making way for Virat Kohli.

However, the second wicket in Indian opener and skipper, Rohit Sharma came in the tenth over, the match was then a witness of a breach as an invader ran on the field of play in the 14th over of the India inning. S oon after the third delivery of the 14th over, a pitch invader broke on the field and went upto King Kohli with a message “STOP BOMBING PALESTINE” written in block letters with a mask in Palestinian colours.

This is not the first time that a pitch invader invaded the field in the ODI World Cup 2023. In India’s World Cup opener against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Daniel Jarvo, who runs by the name of Jarvo69, invaded the field and met Kohli and KL Rahul. He was later banned by the International Cricket Council, barring him from the ICC event.
