Virat Kohli made his return in the shortest format of the game (T20Is) after a hiatus of more than 14 months. On his return in the second T20I against Afghanistan, the batting stalwart played a handy knock of 29 to help his side clinch the series with a match still to go. However, his return was also welcomed by fans inside the stadium on Sunday, 14 th January.
While he received a rousing welcome from the fans at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, in one such incident, a fan seized the opportunity to meet the star batter in person. This fan ran inside the stadium when Kohli was stationed near the boundary and hugged and touched the batter’s feet, video of which has been doing rounds.

While this incident took place in the 18th over of the Afghanistan inning and the invaded fan was soon carried out of the stadium. It I now being reported that the fan has been detained by the police at the Tukoganj police station for the security breach.
The police officials have further revealed that the fan had a ticket for the match and entered the arena from the Narendra Hirwani Gate. The police officials have also added that the youth is currently being interrogated and further steps will be taken in the case, if required.
Speaking of the match, the Rohit Sharma-led side invited the visitors to bat first in the second T20I in Indore. On the back of Gulbadin’s 35-ball 57-run knock, the Afghans posted 172/10 in their 20 overs. While Arshdeep bagged three wickets, Ravi Bishnoi, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube were also amongst the wickets. On the back of half centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube, the Men in Blue helped the team cross the line in 15.4 overs with six wickets in hand.
The final match of the three-match series will be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, 17th January.
