A passionate Mumbai Indians fan demanded to get Rohit Sharma back as captain in front of franchise owner Nita Ambani. Notably, the five-time winning captain Rohit was removed from the captaincy ahead of last year’s IPL as MI decided to go ahead with Hardik Pandya, who led Gujarat Titans to title in 2022 as their new skipper. However, it didn't turn out to be a great outing for Pandya in his first season as MI captain as the franchise finished at the bottom of the table last year.
Talking about the ongoing season, MI have won two out of six matches in IPL 2025 so far. In a viral video, a fan can be seen requesting Nita Ambani to make Rohit Sharma MI captain again in an event. “Madam, Madam, Rohit ko captain karo (Madam, Madam, make Rohit captain),” the fan pleaded to MI owner, to which she replied, “Baba ki marzi (God’s wish).”

MI hand DC their first defeat of IPL 2025 in thrilling finish
Notably, Mumbai Indians are back on the winning track in IPL 2025 as they defeated Delhi Capitals by 12 runs with an epic comeback at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, April 13. With this, DC who were coming after four consecutive wins were also handed their first defeat of the season. Chasing a target of 206 runs, Karun Nair almost made the things one sided for DC with his knock of 89(40) runs on IPL comeback.
However, things took a different turn after Karun Nair’s dismissal as DC suffered a dramatic collapse and were bowled out for 193 runs in 19 overs. Player of the match, Karn Sharma turned the match around with figures of 3/36, taking big wickets of Abishek Porel, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs.
