India took on New Zealand in the final match of the three-match ODI series on Tuesday (24 Jan) at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The Men in Blue registered another emphatic win as they defeated the Kiwis by 90 runs. Shubman Gill was the star for India for his knock of 112 (78). The young batter was also awarded the Player of the Series award for his brilliant run in the three ODIs.

Gill scored 360 runs in the three ODIs at a staggering average of 180. While the batter received heaps of praise for his stupendous batting, fans did trouble the batter with some chants during the game. As Gill was fielding near the ropes during New Zealand’s innings, some fans started chanting ‘Sara, Sara’. “Apni bhabhi kaisi ho, Sara bhabhi jaisi ho,” were the words coming out from the fans.

While Gill paid no heed to these chants, India batter Virat Kohli was seen enjoying everything. Kohli even asked the fans to continue the chants. In a video doing the rounds on the internet Virat was seen laughing while fans shouted Sara, Sara. The batter then asked the fans to continue the chants.

Coming to Gill's batting, the 23-year-old has been amassing runs consistently. Gill has scored over 1200 ODI runs in just 21 innings. The batter has four centuries to his name with a double hundred as well. India captain Rohit Sharma was all praise for Gill after the three-match series against New Zealand. Sharma said that the batter is mature and does not need too much advice while batting.

"He's got great maturity. The way he thinks about his game, the way he approaches the game, that is all I can say. I mean, honestly, with the way he was batting in this series and before the series, I don't think much needs to be told. He understands his game really well. If you see, he paces his inning really well, and that is what he you want in one day, cricket, you want to go big, you want to go deep into the game. And he's shown it," expressed the Indian skipper.
