With the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 nearing its half-stage mark, an unexpected incident took place on Monday, April 14 in Hyderabad. The city of Hyderabad, where the IPL franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are residing, saw their team hotel, Park Hyatt caught in fire. As it is being reported, a minor fire accident occurred at the Park Hyatt hotel, situated in the Banjara Hills.
Although, later it was clarified that it was just a minor fire which started from the spa, situated on the first floor of the hotel. Several have claimed that a short circuit ignited the fire, leading to smoke engulfing the area. As reported by the fire department officials, no one was present in the spa at the hour of the accident and luckily no calamities were reported.

When asked of the situation, a police official at Banjara Hills Police Station said, “It was a minor fire and a fire engine was rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control quickly.” Meanwhile several officials also revealed that some players, who were staying in another tower were not in the hotel when the chaos erupted.
However, no injuries were reported during the entire incident and the situation was brought under control quickly. Speaking of the Orange Army, who will be high on confidence as they are coming after beating Punjab Kings, will next travel to Wankhede Stadium to take on Mumbai Indians on Thursday, April 17.
