Barcelona took a five-point lead from the defending champions Real Madrid in the La Liga points table after defeating Osasuna 1-2 at the El Sadar stadium on Tuesday night. The match was full of drama and excitement as new signing Raphinha scored a late winner from Frenkie de Jong's half-line pass to help the Catalan giants take all the three points.
The 10-man Barcelona then entered the second half with a goal behind Osasuna and talented midfielder Pedri equalized the score in the 48th minute while Raphinha's late header gifted Barcelona full points against Osasuna. However, it was a Frenkie de Jong masterclass that helped the former Leeds United forward to score the winner.
With his tremendous vision, De Jong spotted Raphinha's run and latched a long ball into the box that found the Brazilian, who chipped the ball over goalkeeper Aitor Fernández to score his second goal of the season. With the 85th minute goal, Barcelona defeated Osasuna 1-2 in their final game before the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

During the Tuesday's match, Barcelona star striker Robert Lewandowski and defender Gerrard Pique were shown red cards by the referee. Lewandowski received two yellow cards in a span of 19 minutes in the first half and was sent off for the second time in his career.
On the other hand, Gerard Pique, who was playing his last professional game for Barcelona, continued complaining for allowing David Garcia's opening goal after the first half whistle was blown. Pique, who was on the bench as a probable substitute, received a red card in the tunnel for remonstrating with referee Jesus Gil Manzano.
