On Day 1 of the ongoing match between Andhra and MP, the India batter was struck by a bouncer from pacer Avesh Khan. A team official later confirmed that he has suffered a fracture on his left wrist and has been advised five-six weeks rest. However, the official also added that if the team requires Vihari might have to come out to bat which was seen on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old resumed his innings in the morning session on Day 2 with the scoreboard reading 353/9. In his innings of 27*, he struck two fours adding 10 more runs to his total as the team ended the session with a total for 379/9.
