After winning their first three matches in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, Team India will look to continue their winning run against Bangladesh on Thursday at the MCA Stadium in Pune. However, the hosts received a major setback as star all-rounder Hardik Pandya injured his ankle while bowling his first over against Bangladesh.

During the ninth over and Pandya's first over in the match, the 30-year-old all-rounder tried to stop the ball on the follow-through and appeared to twist his ankle. Pandya limped off the field after the injury as the Indian physio rushed in to check his injury status.

In the over, Pandya bowled three deliveries and went for eight runs with two back-to-back boundaries. He tried to stop the second boundary which was a straight drive and fell on the ground, twisting his ankle in the process.

Indian veteran Virat Kohli bowled the remaining three deliveries and gave away just two runs after blowing for the first time in six years. After 10 overs, Bangladesh were 63 without a loss of wicket as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj completed their four overs each.
