Indian cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur and Sophie Devine were involved in a heated argument during a WBBL 2023 match. Kaur is a part of the Melbourne Renegades and is the only Indian cricketer to secure a spot in the Women’s Big Bash League. Melbourne Renegades locked horns with Perth Scorchers on November 3, where Kaur engaged in a verbal spat with the Kiwi bowler Sophie Devine.
Kaur’s altercation with Devine took place in the 16th over as the 34-year-old was getting ready to face the bowler. However, the Kiwi all-rounder bowled the ball before Kaur was completely ready to bat and hence, she pulled out. However, Devine was adamant that the over should be counted and got into a heated argument with the Indian.

The umpires had to intervene and after having a chat, the over was declared dead, and Devine was asked to deliver the ball again. Amidst the heat of the moment, Beth Mooney joked that she wouldn’t know who would win while admitting that Harmanpreet Kaur does scare her a bit.
The Renegades won the toss and elected to bat first, and though they were looking for a good start, they soon found themselves in a tight spot. The Hayley Matthews-led side lost three wickets in nine overs when their score read 64. However, the Indian skipper stood by her team’s side and played a brilliant knock of 52* to give her side some stability.
