Babar Azam-led Pakistan kept their World Cup semifinals hope alive after registering a 21-run win over New Zealand via DLS method on Saturday, November 4 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. With rain coming into picture and halting the game twice, the match was eventually called off with the Men in Green leading the scoreboard by 21 runs.

However, earlier in the match, Pakistan invited New Zealand to bat first with the latter putting up 401 runs on the board, courtesy a brilliant century knock from Rachin Ravindra and a crucial 95 from skipper Kane Williamson. However, both of these knocks from star players went in vain as the Kiwis lost their fourth match on the trot in the ongoing World Cup.
Meanwhile, an instance from the match has gone viral which also gave a lifeline to Mitchell Santner. Pakistan bowler Hasan Ali dropped Mitchell Santner in the 50th over in an easy attempt. The pacer charged in from long on as the ball went high up in the air but just fell short to grab it in time, yet again being a mockery of Pakistan’s misfielding.
