Pakistan and Birmingham Bears bowler Hasan Ali injured himself while celebrating a wicket in the Vitality Blast 2024. The Bears took on Nottinghamshire in their recent meet-up in the league on June 1. The game saw the Alex Davies-captained side registering a 22-run win over their counterparts. During the game, Ali hurt himself while celebrating the wicket of Olly Stone.
The Pakistan cricketer found himself in a similar situation a few years back when he got injured while performing his trademark ‘bomb explosion’. It had taken place in Pakistan’s game against Zimbabwe a few years ago when the fast bowler had hurt himself while celebrating Ryan Murray’s wicket.
Coming back to the Vitality game, Ali took a couple of wickets while conceding 22 runs in three overs. While batting, he managed to add six runs off eight deliveries. The game saw the Bears captain winning the toss and inviting the rivals to bat first. Relying on Rob Yates’ 68 runs off 48 deliveries, the side managed to post a total of 149 on the scoreboard. The side later managed to restrict the rivals to 127 with four balls left to their innings.
Speaking of Ali, the bowler has delivered remarkable performances in the ongoing season of the tournament. Ali wasn’t picked in Pakistan’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad over Mohammad Amir, who took a U-turn from his retirement to be a part of the team. In the Bears’ first game against Durham, Ali picked three crucial wickets for the side while conceding 20 runs in 3.1 overs.
