West Indies Women skipper Hayley Matthews showed great dedication for the sport during a match against Scotland Women in the Women’s World Cup qualifier fixture in Lahore. While chasing a target of 245 runs, Matthews was just a run away from her hundred before while she suffered severe cramps and couldn’t continue to bat further. After that, Matthews was taken back to the pavilion on a stretcher on the third ball of the 42nd over while the score was 203 for eight.
Interestingly, Hayley Matthews was also unbeaten on 99* runs off 100 balls when she was taken on a stretcher. However, she couldn’t stay of the game for long as number 11 batter Karishma Ramharack lost her wicket on the very next ball, which forced Matthews to come back to the crease as West Indies still needed 42 runs to win with only wicket left. Coming back unbeaten on 99*, Matthews completed her hundred on the very next delivery in 101 balls.
