In the 12th match of the SA20 2024 between the Durban Super Giants and the SunRisers Eastern Cape, South African wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen smashed the longest six in SA20 history reaching 105 meters. Keshav Maharaj-led DSG won the toss and opted to bat first against Aiden Markram's SEC at the Kingsmead in Durban.
After losing their opener Quinton de Kock (7 runs) in the second over at a score of 10 runs, his fellow Super Giants' opener, Matthew Breetzke, took over and smashed 35-off-24 with five fours and a six. The 25-year-old opener went out on the second ball of the seventh over after taking the DSG's score to 50 runs. Following his wicket, Heinrich Klaasen came to bat and smashed three sixes and a four in his 17-ball-31 runs innings.
In his fearless innings, Klassen smashed the longest six in SA20 history on the second ball of the 10th over. England all-rounder Liam Dawson bowled a tossed-up delivery that was brilliantly picked by Klaasen, who slammed it at the top of the roof over long-on.
