The eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is all set to be staged from 13 February to 19 March. Meanwhile, an exhibition match was organised before the league stage kicks off. Babar Azam’s Peshawar Zalmi and Sarfaraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiators played against each other in the exhibition game. The Gladiators eventually emerged victorious as Zalmi failed to chase 185.

While the fans enjoyed a blistering knock from Iftikhar Ahmed (94 off 50 balls), the players had a scare when they heard a bomb blast near the venue. The game was also halted for a while. However, it resumed after things settled down a bit. But Gladiators’ Naseem Shah seemed to be still in shock as his behaviour when a fan approached the cricketer for a selfie has gone viral.

In a video doing the rounds on the internet, Naseem is seen looking for security guards as the fan tries to click a picture with the cricketer. The Pakistan speedster is also seen maintaining a fair distance with the young fan.

Coming to the exhibition match, it was not a one-sided affair as Mohammad Haris scored a blistering half-century (53 off 35) in the chase. Meanwhile, Babar Azam and Shahid Afridi also chipped in with handy 20s.

Meanwhile, talking about PSL 8, the season will kick off with a match between Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars. Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi will square off in the second match of the season.  Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi will share between them the 34-match tournament, and the event schedule has been designed in such a way that the four home sides will each play five matches in front of their fans and supporters – one against each side.
