Afghanistan wicketkeeper Ikram Alikhil took a stunning one-hand ed blinder to get rid of Mitchell Starc in the ODI World Cup 2023. Five-time reigning champions locked horns with Afghanistan in the 39th clash of the ODI World Cup 2023, on November 7, Tuesday. Hashmatullah Shahidi had won the toss and invited his side to bat first. Afghanistan posted a total of 291 runs on the scoreboard with a loss of five wickets.

In the second inning, Alikhil took an impressive one-handed blinder to send Starc back to the pavilion. In the 19th over, Starc tried to defend the delivery by Rashid Khan, and just nicked it. However, Alikhil standing behind the stumps, dived to his left, and despite fumbling earlier, he finally took the catch in his third attempt. While the Aussies decided not to review the dismissal, replays showed no involvement of the bat.
However, Starc walked back to the pavilion for three runs off seven deliveries. By the end of the 19th over, Australia's score had reached 95 and the Baggy Greens had lost seven wickets by then.
