Ishan Kishan and Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill were seen having a cheerful moment before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the 2022 champions. Hyderabad, after losing their three consecutive games, will host GT at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. After winning their opening match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) convincingly at their home ground, SRH lacked discipline which has forced them to languish at the bottom of the points table. GT, on the other hand, have put a collective effort to win two games in a row after losing their season opener against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25.
Ahead of the crucial match, GT took to their X handle and posted a video of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill rating Mohammed Siraj’s batting in the nets. During the GT’s warm-up session, pacer Siraj was seen playing some strokes from his bat. Noting his batting, Kishan, accompanied by Gill, made some hilarious remarks. “Bhai chahe ball idhar ho ya udhar ho, pair idhar hi hai.” (Whether the ball is outside off or on the leg side, he will play a forward defensive stroke in a straight line). The 26-year-old also added, "Timing galat hai.” (The timing is wrong). Reacting to Kishan’s comments, Siraj said, “Maara nahi hai power se, warmup kar raha tha.” (I didn't smash with power, I was just warming up).
Kishan eyes to fire with his bat while Siraj will strive to dominate SRH
Kishan looked completely out of rhythm in his last three matches. After notching up his maiden IPL ton against RR, the southpaw has failed to score in double digits. In the last three outings, his scores are 0, 2, and 2. Against GT, he will have to assist openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma to reinforce SRH’s top-order.
Talking about Siraj, the 31-year-old performed magnificently as an opening bowler for GT against Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Playing at his home ground in Hyderabad, GT will expect him to get rid of SRH’s dangerous openers Head and Abhishek early in the contest.
