After Sri Lankan batters displayed dominating performance in the 1st innings of 1st T2oI in Dharamsala, the visiting bowlers stepped up and posed tough challenges to India's top-order. While chasing 183, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan opened the innings for India, seeking to build a solid partnership. Still, Sri Lankan bowler Dushmantha Chameera wasted no time and turned the game on its head.
He bowled skipper Rohit Sharma (1 off 2) on good length delivery in the very first over of the 2nd innings. Rohit could add only one run to his account before returning to pavillion. While Sri Lankans were controlling the game, Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan steered India's inning with superb shot selections. Both the players played some cracking shots all-around and accelerated India's innings.
While the battle between bat and ball was getting intense every minute, Sri Lanka's Lahiru Kumara made it more intense with his quick deliveries. Kumara started the 4th over with a delivery above 146.7 kmph, while sheer pace in his second delivery missed Kishan's pull and went on hitting his helmet. Kishan was left rattled, stunned and surprised with that delivery, while the Sri Lankan bowler quickly reached out to Kishan, asking about his situation.

Minutes later, the batter was surrounded by the Indian physio, who inspected Kishan's condition. The game paused for a while till Kishan nodded in agreement about his well being to Indian physio. However, Kumara continued the play with his pace attack and posed formidable challenges to the on crease batters. However, Kumara turned out to be lethal for Kishan as the bowler dismissed the batter in his next over (6th). While Kishan attempted to whip the ball over mid-wicket, the ball could not get the push it needed and landed straight in Sri Lankan skipper's hand.
Shreyas Iyer (64 off 36), along with Sanju Samson (39 of 25), played some cracking shots all-around, seeking to accelerate India's inning while chasing a mammoth total. Earlier, Sri Lanka posted 183 for 5-wickets, courtesy of blistering 75 off 83 balls by Pathum Nissanka and skipper Dasun Shanaka (47 off 19).
