Popular YouTube streamer iShowSpeed has returned from hospital and his chat asked him to react to Cristiano Ronaldo winning the “world cup”. In reality, fans baited Speed into thinking that the Arab Club Champions Cup trophy was the World Cup trophy. The social media influencer goes along with it jokingly, watching a video of the iconic Portuguese player lifting the trophy. His persona as a Ronaldo superfan led him to scream in joy as he watched his icon lift the trophy.

The two trophies look remarkably similar, which led to many social media figures comparing Messi’s photos with the world cup to Ronaldo’s pictures with the Champions Cup to mock the latter. Ronaldo has never won a World Cup, though he managed to guide Portugal to a Euros win in 2016 against France and the inaugural Nations League tournament.

Speed's initial confusion gave way to the assumption of his persona  when he saw videos of Al-Nassr celebrating their win. He initially watched a YouTube short on the trophy before switching to another video that showed Ronaldo celebrating with his teammates before making his way to the podium and lifting the trophy.

Speed’s reputation as a Ronaldo superfan has led him to visit Ronaldo’s games both at the last World Cup in Qatar as well as at Al-Nassr’s pre-season friendlies. The young streamer even got the opportunity to meet his idol in June.

Speed returns from the hospital to resume streaming from home

The 18-year-old influencer was in Japan this year to watch Al-Nassr’s games when he was suddenly hospitalised following cluster headaches and severe swelling on his face. The cause was revealed to be a serious sinus infection. The pain was so harsh that Speed admitted that at points he was scared for his life.

Fortunately, the entertainer seems to have recovered well and has returned home. He kept his stream updated whilst he was in the hospital and spoke about his experience more once he was discharged. It is likely that he will be streaming again on the weekend beginning on August 18.
