An Ivorian fan apologised to his wife and kids after he was caught flirting with a young woman during a Senegal game. The incident happened during the Ivory Coast’s Round of 16 victory over defending champions in Stade Charles Konan Banny de Yamoussoukro. The fan named Anselme Santos, tried to engage in a conversation with a young lady during the game, who was sitting right next to him.
However, the moment got captured on camera, and in no time, the incident sparked a meme fest all over the internet. Talking about the Ivory Coast, the team was standing on the verge of getting eliminated from the Africa Cup of Nations in the group stage. However, they managed to secure victory in their last clash and hence, secured themselves a spot in the quarterfinals of the tournament, to face Senegal.

Ivorian fan apologises to family
During Ivory’s clash against Senegal, a fan named Anselme Santos was spotted trying to engage in conversation with a young woman, who was his seatmate. According to Actu Foot, Santos apologised to his wife and children and expressed remorse for the distress his actions could have caused his family. Santos told Actu Foot, “In the euphoria, I told her ‘Give your number’.”
He added, “It wasn’t mean, but she didn’t want to. So I didn’t insist. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to the lady, my wife, and my children.” Notably, the Ivory FA recently dismissed their manager Jean-Louis Gesset, before the knockout teams were finalised.
