The IPL 2024 match 26 saw Delhi Capitals (DC) emerge victorious over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday, April 12. With this win, the DC returned to winnings ways and register their second win of the season. Earlier in the match, it was LSG that won the toss and elected to bat first.
After a crucial 39-run off 22 deliveries from KL Rahul, the middle order batters failed to capitalise on the chances. However, youngster Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan stitched a crucial 73-run partnership for the eighth wicket to help the side cross the 150-run mark. While Badoni scored 35-ball 55*, Khan added 20* runs from 16 balls.
With Delhi Capitals taking the guards in the middle, it was Rishabh Pant and Jake Fraser-McGurk show, which helped the side seal the game with 11 balls to spare. During debutant Jake Fraser’s 35-ball stay in the middle, the 22-year-old unleashed his prowess from the first ball. He also smashed a hat-trick of sixes off Krunal Pandya’s over.
The incident took place in the 13th over, which was being bowled by Krunal Pandya. While he fired the first over deep mid-wicket, his second came over deep extra cover, followed by the third over long-off.

Soon after his hat-trick of sixes, the Australian reached his fifty off 31 balls in the 14th over of DC’s run-chase. With this he has now become the 22nd cricketer to score a fifty on IPL debut in the tournament’s history. It is to be further noted that Fraser-McGurk holds the world record for fastest century in ODI, which came off from just 29 balls.
