Jake Paul is a controversial, though undeniably pioneering, figure on the internet. The influencer can boast not only revolutionizing the vine scene, the YouTube vlogging and music scene, but also the celebrity boxing scene. If there is anything that Jake knows, it's what fans of mainstream social media want to see, often before they know it themselves. The YouTuber-turned-boxer has recently showed off a sneak peek for his new Netflix documentary. The ‘UNTOLD: Jake Paul The Problem Child’, which is out on Netflix now, reveals how Paul transitioned from primarily being a YouTube influencer to becoming a celebrity boxer and changing the fight scene forever.

The documentary offers a relatively revealing look into the lives of the two Paul brothers and the effect fame and ambition has on family and mental health. It explores the darkest places Jake Paul has been emotionally in his life, and how he channels that into his creativity and his work.

The work might be a marketing move to set up the upcoming fight between Jake and Nate Diaz, but fans felt that it was too emotionally charged and personal to be a PR move. The general opinion, however, was divided and many people took to social media to criticize the documentary or to mock Pauls’ presentation in it. Several comments attacked Jake Paul for not addressing his sexual assault allegations from 2019 while others mocked Logan Paul for dressing in attire that made him look like Jeffrey Dahmer as well as for his massive crypto currency rugpull scam that went viral once it was exposed this year.

Jake Paul accuses father Greg Paul of childhood a buse

In Problem Child, both Jake and Logan Paul allege that their father Greg Paul would physically hit the two when they were children, and that they used the emotions to fuel their ambition to make it in the world of social media.

Jake Paul said, “My dad would slap the s–t out of me. I don’t resent it. I’m understanding of why he did that. That’s all he knew. He always said ‘life’s not easy, life’s not fair. [Our father] was so hard and so tough on us that my brother and I’s imagination really started to flare up.”

Greg Paul however denied these claims, stating, “I never laid hands on my kids. I said, ‘Jake I did pick you up and throw you on a couch a couple of times. That’s what the f–k dads are supposed to do’.”

This is said to be the primary cause for a rift between Greg and Jake Paul that came to a head last year.

Logan Paul claimed that Jake is still not good with his father because of this, and stated, “Jake’s birthday, we all flew to Utah in this cabin. Jake was pretty f–ked up, so was my dad. There was a big group of people there. Jake mentioned my dad abusing him as a child. They got in a huge argument, and it hurt Jake so much that my dad refused to acknowledge the physical hardship that he put us through when we were young.”
