On Saturday, April 12, England batter James Vince scored the third fastest hundred in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history, to help Karachi Kings achieve a four-wicket win over Multan Sultans at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi. In pursuit of the 235-run target, James Vince scored 103 runs in just 43 balls with 14 fours and four maximums, to not only put a dampener on the Mohammad Rizwan hundred for Multan Sultans, but also set-up an unlikely defeat for them.

For the unversed, after winning the toss, Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan decided to bat first, and he batted right throughout the innings, scoring 105 runs in 63 balls with nine fours and five maximums. The likes of Kamran Ghulam and Michael Bracewell got quickfire cameos, which allowed the visitors to reach 234/3 total in their allotted 20 overs, to put them in a strong position to win their opening match of IPL 2025.

In the run chase, Tim Seifert got off to a flyer for Karachi Kings, but they lost three wickets in the powerplay stage, to find themselves in some trouble in pursuit of the 236-run target. But then, the fifth wicket partnership of 142 runs between James Vince and Khusdil Shah, who scored 60 runs in 37 balls with five fours and four sixes, ensured that Karachi Kings achieved a victory over Multan Sultans.
