Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) took on Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday. The SRH captain won the toss and decided to bowl first. But the RR opening pair of Jos Buttler and Yashaswi Jaiswal got their team to a flying start, stitching an 85-run partnership in just 35 balls. Buttler was the aggressor as the RR wicketkeeper batter scored 54 off just 22 balls.
RR capitalized on this start and posted a massive total (203/5) in their designated 20 overs. Meanwhile, SRH faltered with the bat in hand as well. The hosts lost two early wickets as Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi fell for ducks, against Trent Boult. While Sharma was outdone by an away swinger, Tripathi succumbed to a brilliant catch from Jason Holder.
As Boult bowled an outside-off stump delivery, Tripathi poked at it but could only manage a thick outside edge. The ball flew to the first slip where Holder showed quick reflexes to hold on to the ball.
