In defence of the 240-run total against Australia during the ODI World Cup 2023 Final, the shoulders of the Indian players dropped after the DRS call didn’t go in their favour at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Jasprit Bumrah was none too pleased with the moment as he broke the stumps after Marnus Labuschagne survived a big scare.

The moment happened during the 28th over of the Australian innings, when they were cruising at 157/3 with just 84 more runs required to achieve their sixth ODI World Cup title. It was Marnus Labuschagne, who missed the yorker from Jasprit Bumrah, but when the umpire didn’t give him out LBW, the Indian captain Rohit Sharma went for the DRS.

The ball tracker showcased that Marnus Labuschagne was in front of the stumps, but the umpire’s call saved him from being dismissed at a crucial juncture of the CWC 2023 Final. Moments later, the cameras caught Jasprit Bumrah taking out his frustration by breaking the stumps.

As of this writing, Australia are 214/3 after 38 overs in their innings, needing just 27 more runs to become world champions once again. Travis Head is in the midst of an epic innings, unbeaten on 125 runs off 111 balls, while his partner at the other end, Marnus Labuschagne is not out on 45 runs  off 90 balls.
