On Sunday, December 29, Australia did not have the start that they had expected after bundling out India at the score of 369 and taking a lead of 105 runs in the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia debutant Sam Konstas, who scored 34 runs in 33 balls in the first innings, could not stay for long in the middle as he was dismissed by one of the greats, Jasprit Bumrah.

The moment came on the third delivery of the seventh over of Australia’s second innings, when Bumrah breached the 19-year-old Konstas’ defence and shattered the stumps with an unplayable delivery. The New South Wales batter, who had replaced Nathan McSweeney had nothing but was forced to walk off the field, scoring eight off just 18 deliveries.

Jasprit Bumrah mocks Sam Konstas in rare celebration; gets booed by MCG crowd

After getting the better of the right-handed batter, Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah came up with an epic celebration, which is now making rounds on social media. Soon after bowling him out, Bumrah brought in a rare celebration, imitating Konstas’ Day 1 act that had the MCG crowd erupt in cheers. However, the Indian spearhead stood up giving India a much-needed breakthrough, the MCG crowd was seeing booing him.

Watch Jasprit Bumrah imitate Sam Konstas celebration:

Notably, by taking Konstas’ wicket, Bumrah completed 150 wickets in the World Test Championship. He is the fifth bowler after Ravichandran Ashwin (195), Nathan Lyon (193), Pat Cummins (192) and Mitchell Starc (161) to dismiss 150 or more batters in the WTC. Additionally, the Indian spearhead became the fastest Indian pacer to reach the landmark of 200 wickets in Test cricket, breaking the record previously held by Kapil Dev.

Moreover, he also became the joint secon-fastest Indian to 200 Test wickets along with Ravindra Jadeja. Ravichandran Ashwin, who retired after drawing the Brisbane Test against Australia, stays the fastest Indian after he picked his 200th Test wicket in his 37th Test in September 2016 in a Test match against New Zealand in Kanpur.
