The Men in Blue trashed their Caribbean rivals in the last and the final ODI of the three-match ODI series on August 1, Tuesday. After losing the second ODI of the series, the Asian Giants made a solid comeback and their play on Tuesday was a testament of the same. The men under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya took down their rivals by a mammoth margin of 200 runs and clinched the series 2-1. Jaydev Unadkat, who made his comeback on the Indian side after 10 years, opened up about his first game after a huge gap and said that he was waiting for the opportunity.
In a video posted on the official account of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Unadkat said that he was really pleased to feature in the playing XI for the final game of the series. He said, “I have been waiting for this opportunity and finally I got it, so I’m really pleased.”

Not only this, but the 31-year-old also took a funny challenge and named the playing XI of his last ODI. Notably, before the 3rd ODI against West Indies, Unadkat was last featured in a 50-over game for India against West Indies in November 2013. While naming the playing XI of the game, he said, “Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar), Shami (Mohammed Shami), Me, Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja), Ash (R Ashwin), Rohit Bhai (Rohit Sharma), Shikhi Pa (Shikhar Dhawan), Raina (Suresh Raina), Yuvi Pa (Yuvraj Singh), Mahi Bhai (MS Dhoni), and took a long pause before naming Virat Kohli.”
In his comeback ODI game, Unadkat took one wicket as he dismissed Keacy Carty on six runs. Not only this but by his comeback in the team, he set a unique record of becoming the Indian player with the longest gap between two ODI matches.
