However, things did not seem to be good with the England pacer as he faced frequent issues on his finger. However, bowling the seventh over of the inning, Topley did not look comfortable as he left the field with Joe Root completing the over.
After the fourth delivery of the seventh over, the physio came out in the middle to check on Topley, who seemed to be in trouble in his left hand. However, he couldn’t complete the over as he bowled another delivery with Joe Root throwing the last ball of the over, meanwhile Topley walked off the field.

Additionally, Netherlands are taking on Sri Lanka in the first match of the day at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. After opting to bat first, the Scott Edwards-led side posted 262 runs on the board. Notably, this was the first instance that two Sri Lanka bowlers bagged four wickets or more in the World Cup innings after Muttiah Murlitharan and Farveez Maharoof in 2007 against Ireland.
