Melbourne Stars’ pacer Joel Paris made one of the most unreal run out attempts during match number 23 of the 2024-25 Big Bash League against Melbourne Renegades at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). In an attempt to run out Jacob Bethell, the fast bowler successfully hit the stumps at non-striker’s end with a no-look back-hand flip from the striker's end. However, Bethell was fast enough to get inside the crease before the ball hit the stumps.

During the 16th over of Melbourne Renegades’ innings, Jacob Bethell attempted to go big against Joel Paris but failed to judge the slower ball. However, the left-hander took no time in taking a quick single along with Jonathan Wells at the other end. After that, Paris also quickly rushed towards the ball and immediately threw a ball towards the non-striker’s end without even looking at the back. Despite this, the ball successfully hit the stumps, but Bethell already reached the crease on time and was saved from a terrible run out.
