The inaugural edition of the South African T20 league aka SA20 kicked off with a match between Rashid Khan’s MI Cape Town and David Miller’s Paarl Royals. Mumbai Indians’ captain won the toss and invited Paarl Royals to bat first. Rashid Khan’s decision to bowl first augured well for MI as Jofra Archer drew the first blood in the third over of the PR innings. Archer got rid of Wihan Lubbe as he got the batter caught at the hands of Goerge Linde.

However, Royals’ second opener, Buttler took his time to settle in and held one end intact. The England batter finally unleashed some big shots as he took on Jofra Archer and scored a maximum off a paddle shot. On the second ball of Archer’s second over, Buttler walked across his stumps, making room for himself and then effortlessly helped the ball over the fine leg boundary.

The batter then scored the first half-century of SA20. Buttler crossed the 50-run mark off 40 balls.
