Former England white-ball captain Jos Buttler recently made headlines as he played a quickfire 33-ball 54 during Gujarat Titans' IPL 2025 clash against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Buttler, had a dismal outing at the helm, registering series defeat against India followed by bowing out of Champions Trophy 2025 after three-straight defeats in the league stage. As a result, Buttler stepped down from England’s captaincy with the side yet to anounce their new white-ball skipper.
However, Buttler will get back to his best with the bat as he joined his new IPL franchise, Gujarat Titans for IPL 2025. He bagged INR 15.75 Crore from GT after being released by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the mega auction, which took place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in November 2024.
Jadeja, he’s really effective: Buttler picks Ravindra Jadeja as key all-rounder in his XI
In a latest podcast on Crick Fantasy Boss, when asked to pick a bowler, all-rounder and batter, who is not part of the Three Lions squad by the host of the show, Buttler quickly called out Indian spearhead Jasprit Bumrah’s name, claiming it to be an easy pick. However, he thought a lot before naming Heinrich Klaasen as key batter and finally named Ravindra Jadeja as his all-rounder choice.
“Well, bowler is easy. That would be Jasprit Bumrah, one batsman, it is difficult but I would say Heinrich Klaasen. Klassen is pretty exciting and is playing well at the moment,” Buttler replied, adding that the Protean international has been prolific against spin. When enquired about his all-rounder choice, Buttler quickly asserted “Jadeja, he’s really effective.”
