After these batters departed, Jimmy Neesham stepped up and smashed Australian bowlers all around the park. Then as the match entered the final over New Zealand needed 19 runs and only managed a single which got Neesham back on the strike.

Lucky for the Blackcaps, Starc completely missed his line and conceded five wides before Neesham squeezed a double. Here Australia's fielders put forth a stunning display by putting their bodies on the line to hold off any boundary in the coming deliveries.
Hence Neesham only managed two more doubles and eventually perished on the penultimate ball as Labuschagne's gun throw and Inglis' acrobatic helped inflict a crucial run-out. Then Starc delivered a dot on the final ball and gave Australia a crucial win.
