On Sunday, July 14, Jude Bellingham was spotted kicking a cooler in frustration after England suffered a heartbreaking 1-2 defeat at the hands of Spain in the UEFA Euro 2024 final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. This was the second straight loss in the European Championship final for England, three years after going down against Italy on penalties.

In the first half of the pulsating UEFA Euro 2024 final, Spain had the majority of the possession, but England were quite resolute in defence. Since both the teams were playing quite safe, there were no real clear cut chances created in terms of breaking the deadlock.

The start of the second half saw Nico Williams put Spain in the lead with a clean strike from his left foot on the left side of the box in the 47th minute. It was Lamine Yamal, who picked him out with a delightful pass after getting the ball on the right side of the box.

Spain defeated England in UEFA Euro 2024 final with late winner from Mikel Oyarzabal

England got the equaliser in the 73rd minute, thanks to a stunning hit from Cole Palmer, finding the bottom left corner past a plethora of Spanish defenders and the goalkeeper. The Euro final got stretched in the latter stages with both the teams trying to get a winner, which came the way of Spain in the 86th minute.

Mikel Oyarzabal made it 2-1 for Spain with a first-time hit inside the six-yard area past the England goalkeeper after Marc Cucurella picked him out with perfection from the left wing. Shortly after, England came extremely close to taking the match into extra time, but Dani Olmo cleared a towering header from Marc Guehi off the line, which led to Spain securing their fourth and the most Euro titles among all the teams in the continent.

Following the end of the high-octane UEFA Euro 2024 final, Jude Bellingham, who didn’t have a big impact on the proceedings, expressed his frustration on the cooler around England’s dugout. This was the third time in four summers that England came close to bringing it home in football, but it wasn’t to be this time around either.
