Babar Azam’s poor run of form continued at the T20 World Cup 2022 as the Pakistan captain was dismissed for a mere 6 which he scored from 15 deliveries. But this time, along with Azam’s inability to read the slower ball from Lungi Ngidi, it was Kagiso Rabada’s athleticism that ended the Pakistan captain's stay at the crease.

Rabada took a brilliant catch running backwards from mid-on to send Babar packing. On the second delivery of the sixth over, Lungi Ngidi bowled an off cutter but kept it full. Babar, who committed early into a lofted slog, could only sky the ball. Meanwhile, Rabada who still had plenty of work to do ran back from mid-on, kept his eyes on the ball all along and completed the two-handed catch even as it was lobbing over his left shoulder.

Watch his astounding effort here:

This effort from Rabada brought curtains for Babar Azam who is already going through a poor run of form. The Pakistan captain has scored 14 runs (0,4,4,6) in four games he has played so far.

Nevertheless, after another failure from the top order, the middle order stepped up for Pakistan as Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan scored half-centuries. While Ahmed scored well-calculated 51 off 35 balls, Shadab was all boundaries as the team's vice-captain departed after scoring 52 off just 22 balls. Mohammad Haris also scored a quickfire 28 off just 11 balls to take the pressure off Pakistan.

On the back of these valiant knocks, Pakistan put up 185/9 in their 20 overs. Meanwhile, for South Africa, Anrich Nortje starred with a four-wicket haul. However, he also leaked runs. The other four bowlers took a wicket each to aid their pacer.
