Ahead of IPL 2022, Sunrisers Hyderabad have kicked off their preparations for the upcoming season in some style. The Orange Army have a very new-look support staff this year in form of Tom Moody (head coach), Simon Helmot (assistant coach), Brian Lara (batting coach), Muttiah Muralitharan (spin bowling coach), Dale Steyn (pace bowling coach) and Hemang Badani (fielding coach).
As it turns out, the new thinking tank has its own unique way of preparing the players for the upcoming season. An intra-squad practice match was held at Chepauk Stadium on Monday where Team Kane, under the leadership of SRH skipper Williamson, came out to bat first.
SRH captain shows his class in practice match
The openers of the side were Priyam Garg and Williamson himself and the duo looked quite impressive on a wicket that had some assistance for bowlers. Both the players played some delightful shots against a strong bowling attack that featured the likes of Romario Shepherd, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Shreyas Gopal.
But amid all the shots played during the first innings, it was captain Kane who produced the best moment. The 31-year-old smashed a gigantic six over the square leg boundary against the bowling of T Natarajan, giving a trailer of what one can expect in IPL 2022.

The batting of Kane Williamson on Monday was also a huge positive for Orange Army considering the fact that Kiwi had been out of action for a while due to injury concerns. With the 15th edition of IPL just a few days away, the SRH captain looks 100% fit to lead his new-look side which boasts some exciting talent this year.
Talking about the practice match, Team Kane had posted 114/3 in 16 overs at the time of writing, with Rahul Tripathi and Washington Sundar playing some impressive shots in the middle. Notably, Williamson retired out after playing a fantastic knock at top of the order in order to give others a chance to bat.
