Indian batter Karun Nair lit up the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Maharaja Trophy T20 2023’s second semi-final by scoring a magnificent 41-ball century to help Mysore Warriors reach the final. Batting first against the Gulbarga Mystics, Nair came out to bat in the ninth over as SU Karthik departed after stitching a solid opening partnership with Samarth R.

Building on this foundation, Karun Nair got to work quickly and reached his half-century in just 25 balls with a stunning uppercut six against Avinash D in the 16th over. Soon, the former Rajasthan Royals star hit overdrive and slogged the Gulbarga bowlers all around the Chinnaswamy to score 51 more runs in just 16 balls and complete a stellar, 41-ball century. This magical ton included seven fours and nine sixes as Nair helped Mysore post a humongous 248-run target.

In the second innings, the Warriors held their nerves to register a 36-run and reach the final to face the Hubli Tigers. Talking about his performance, Karun Nair talked about being elated to contribute towards the team’s victory. Further, he praised Gulbaraga’s Hardik Raj, who had a stellar tournament.

He said, “I loved it out there. I'm very happy to contribute to the team winning. One more game to go and one more inning to go. It was a good wicket, really happy with that. It's always been a good wicket here at the KSCA. [on Hardik Raj] He bowled beautifully in this tournament, he is someone to look out for, really happy that more guys are coming out.”
