The England women’s cricketer Kate Cross was spotted on camera, hilariously picking a red drink instead of a yellow drink on arrival to India, signifying her loyalty towards RCB, ahead of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024. Known for her CSK fandom, the 32-year-old landed her first WPL contract with the Bengaluru-based franchise, leaving fans wondering about her allegiance with them.
During the WPL Auction, which took place in Mumbai on December 9 last year, Kate Cross was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore at her base price of ₹30 lakhs. This was the first contact for the English pacer in the WPL after being ignored last year by all the five franchises in the competition.
In the video shared by the Royal Challengers Bangalore on their official YouTube account, Kate Cross was seen getting a traditional welcome greeting from the hotel staff in Bengaluru before she was presented with the yellow and red drink. The English women’s cricketer proceeded to pick the yellow drink before shifting her attention to eventually picking the red drink, and said, “Given the choice between yellow and red. I am always gonna pick red.”
Moreover, the WPL is set to begin on February 23, with the Mumbai Indians taking on the Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will open their campaign on Day 2 of the franchise T20 tournament, going head-to-head against the UP Warriorz at their home ground.
