SunRisers Hyderabad are having quite a disheartening season of the Indian Premier League 2023. The Hyderabad-based franchise lost their recent clash against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 4 and are set to clash against Rajasthan Royals on May 7, Sunday. The Aiden Marakram-led side is currently occupying the ninth spot on the points table as they have won three out of the nine fixtures they have played in the tournament so far. Taking the field to chase a score of 172 to win, SRH were restricted to 166/8 at their home game. The team’s owner, Kaviya Maran was left gutted as the team registered their sixth defeat of the season.
Sun Group owner Kalandhi Maran’s daughter, Kaviya Maran, was in the stands supporting and cheering for her orange army. Kaviya was seen jumping in joy after every dismissal of Kolkata Knight Riders’ batters. However, her happiness was short lived, and she was left shell-shocked after the gloomy loss of the Hyderabad-based franchise in the 47th game of the Indian Premier League 2023. She was later seen applauding the Kolkata Knight Riders team repentantly after her team succumbed to loss by 5 runs.

Kaviya’s reaction sparked meme-fest on Twitter
The roller-coaster ride that Kaviya’s emotions went through during the SRH vs KKR game sparked a meme fest on Twitter. Here are some tweets:
Notably, after their sixth loss, SunRisers’ head coach Brian Lara blamed the batters for the defeat. Addressing the media in the post-match press conference, he said, "We keep losing couple of wickets in powerplay and that always sets you back a bit. We again ask (Heinrich) Klassen, who has been batting tremendous for us, to do all the hard work. He is coming in at No.6, we have got five quality players before him. It's always been a task for him.” He further added, "The batters obviously will know the responsibility of winning such a game on a good batting track, but we are unable to do it."
The team will look forward to advancing on the points table by securing their fourth win of the season against Rajasthan Royals on May 7.
