India and Pakistan are battling it out at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium for the second time in one week at the Asia Cup 2022. While India defeated their arch-rivals in the first meeting, Pakistan got the first thing right as Babar Azam won the toss. However, it seemed Azam’s decision to bowl first backfired with both Indian openers smashing every Pakistani bowler.
Captain Rohit Sharma took the charge against Naseem Shah as he sliced him for a boundary on the fourth delivery of the first over. He capitalized on the boundary and scored a six off the last ball to accumulate 11 runs from the first over. Muhammad Hasnain was also taken to the cleaners as Rohit and Rahul scored nine runs off his first over.
Haris Rauf was not forgiven too. Sharma hit the right-arm quick for a boundary and a maximum on the first two delivery of his first over. However, Rauf soon got his man as he dismissed Sharma on the first ball of his second over. Sharma could not read a slower ball from Rauf and skied a slog which was taken by Khushdil Shah.
But as is the case with Pakistani fielders, it was not the easiest of catches. A collision was on the cards as Fakhar Zaman and Khushdil Shah ran into each other and also had a mini collision. Nevertheless, Shah somehow held onto the catch and Pakistan drew the first blood.
