Afghanistan are taking on Sri Lanka in Match 30 of ODI World Cup 2023 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Notably, both Asian sides are coming into this game after registering win in their respective last match, keeping them still alive in competition for the semifinals.

While the players lined up for their respective national anthems after Afghanistan won the toss and invited the Lankan Lions to bat first, a kid standing in front of the stand-in captain, Kusal Mendis fainted. While the Lankan skipper picked him up, a support staff member from the Afghan team came up to check on the kid and take him off the field.

Talking about the match, while Sri Lanka steps in with two changes as Dushmantha Chameera comes in for Lahiru Kumara and Karunaratne replaces Kusal Perera, the Afghans also took the field with one change as Fazalhaq Farooqi comes in, replacing Noor Ahmed.
