The defending champions of Indian Premier League (IPL), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday, March 3 unveiled their brand new jersey for the forthcoming season of the tournament. Although, the 18th edition of the tournament is scheduled to begin from March 22 with KKR taking Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the iconic Eden Gardens.
Just days ahead of the tournament, the Knight Riders made some notable changes to their kit which saw them introduce a golden badge of the right sleeve of the shirt, along with the addition of the three stars over their crest. It is to be noted that the three stars symbolises the three IPL titles KKR have won so far in the history of the tournament.
KKR registers three stars around Gemini constellation; names them Korbo, Lorbo and Jeetbo
The new jersey was unveiled involving key players from their 2025 squad, including hard-hitter Rinku Singh, Venkatesh Iyer, Manish Pandey and Vaibav Arora. On the other hand, the KKR franchise also etched history as they registered three stars into the cosmos.
Taking to social media, KKR also announced that they have registered three stars around the Gemini constellation, which have been named after their three IPL wins, which took place in 2012 (Korbo), which translates to play, 2014 (Lorbo), which translates to fight and 2024 (Jeeto) which means winning. These stars, which can be viewed using the official cordinates, have been registered by the date they won each title on, namely 27/05/1012, 1/6/2014 and 26/5/2024.
The three-time IPL winners, KKR will commence their 2025 season on March 22 as they take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They will play seven matches at their home ground with their final league stage match scheduled for April 21.
