India aren’t having a great time in the ongoing first Test against New Zealand at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The hosts were bowled out for just 46 runs in the first innings, registering their third lowest total in Test cricket and the lowest total in India. After their disastrous batting performance, India weren't able to dictate terms to New Zealand with the ball either as the visitors got past their first innings score without losing a wicket. During New Zealand’s batting innings, KL Rahul dropped an easy catch of Kiwi skipper Tom Latham.

After bowling India out cheaply, New Zealand had a strong start as their openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway put up an opening partnership of 67 runs for the first wicket. During the innings, India got a chance to dismiss Tom Latham as the Kiwi skipper edged the ball on the second ball of the 13th over by Mohammed Siraj towards KL Rahul in second slip. However, Rahul couldn’t judge the trajectory of the ball properly, and was unable to go for the catch as Latham collected a lucky boundary. Rohit Sharma also expressed his disappointment after Rahul’s fielding blunder.
