Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul heaped praise on the former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni ahead of their Super clash on Friday, April 19 at Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. It was under the leadership of Dhoni when the Karnataka player made his international debut in the 2014 Melbourne Test and recently during an event, Rahul talked about his admiration for the World Cup-winning Indian skipper.
MS Dhoni, who is one of the greatest ever skippers in International cricket has contributed significantly to the rise of Indian cricket as well as to his franchise Chennai Super Kings. The former Indian skipper has clinched all three ICC trophies alongside, winning five IPL trophies for CSK.
Speaking at an event by Star Sports, Rahul praised Dhoni by acknowledging him as the special person for the entire India, and recollected his fond memories with Dhoni, from getting his International debut cap across formats from him to playing alongside him. KL Rahul said, “MS Dhoni is obviously a special person for the entire country. The special moment with him was when I received caps for Test, ODI, and T20I from Dhoni and to receive from his hands will be at the top in the special moments. Playing with him will always remain in my special memories.”
Rahul-led LSG is slated to meet the in-form Chennai Super Kings in a “super clash” on Friday night. For visitors, ex-captain MS Dhoni set the stage on fire in their previous match against Mumbai Indians where he piled up unbeaten 20 runs in the last four balls of the innings.
Dhoni belted MI skipper Hardik Pandya for three consecutive sixes in the final over before concluding the total at 206/4 and eventually becoming the difference in the score of both sides.
