Wicketkeeper batter KL Rahul is one of the most valuable players that the Indian squad has currently. After being on fan’s radar due to poor form, the cricketer proved his worth and established himself as one of the most reliable names to have donned the Indian jersey. In recent tournaments, the 31-year-old showcased a sense of responsibility and won several crucial games for the Men in Blue. His recent games have earned him a special place in his fans’ hearts. A recent viral video is a testament to Rahul’s growing fan base.

After the completion of the multi-format Test series in South Africa, the cricketer is having a break and enjoying some time with family. During the vacation, a video of Rahul went viral across several social media platforms. In the video, a few fans could be seen approaching Rahul for a selfie as he steps out of a restaurant. Subsequently, the fans bowed down to the Mangalore-born and touched his feet.

The 31-year-old was stunned by this gesture of the fans and he stepped backward; the cricketer later allowed the fans to take a picture with him. The video has gone viral on social media, and fans have shared the video multiple times, appreciating fans for his gesture. The wicketkeeper batter delivered some notable performances in recent times, including the ODI World Cup 2023.

Recently, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar said that KL Rahul is a good wicketkeeper-batter option for India in the T20I World Cup 2024. However, if Rishabh Pant is fit to play, he should be the first choice for the upcoming ICC marquee event. Gavaskar said, "I see him (Rahul) as a wicketkeeper as well but I will say one thing before that - if Rishabh Pant is fit on even one leg, he should come in the team because he is a game-changer in every format. If I am the selector, I will put his name first.”
