While with this knock, he became the fastest to reach ODI World Cup hundred from Sri Lanka, after Sanath Jayasuriya and K Sangakkara. He also became the sixth to reach the fastest hundred in ODI World Cup by balls, after Aiden Markram, Kevin O’Brien, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers and Eoin Morgan.
