On Sunday, the Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving had a fan kicked out of the arena in a road game against the Charlotte Hornets. The final scoreline read 110-104 in the favour of the Hornets as the Mav ericks  suffered their fourth consecutive NBA loss. They also slipped further behind on the ladder in the race for the play-in spot in the Western Conference.

The incident happened during the third quarter when Irving abruptly pointed out a fan to the referee, who was then removed from Spectrum Center by the security personnel after his momentary objection and booing. The other fans in Charlotte also joined in with their boos as this fan was ejected out.

On the live broadcast, it was observed that the man was sporting odd attire that included a Redskins hat and a DC United jersey which may have been the reason for Kyrie Irving’s sudden reaction towards him.

In his post-game interview, Irving spoke about  this incident. He mentioned ,  “He (The Fan) just called out my name. So, I just had to make sure I looked him eye to eye and see if he’d say it to my face.”

It’s not the first time when the fans have booed Kyrie Irving at   the  arena. Last Friday ,  at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas itself, he and the entire Mavs side  was booed after a loss to the same opponent Charlotte Hornets. Irving then reacted in a fiery way by challenging the fans who booed to switch places with him.
