Anthony Davis, a standout for the Los Angeles Lakers, works out in the boxing ring during the offseason. A video of Davis practicing his punches and evading jabs with boxer Jalen Walker was uploaded to Instagram. Davis is a 6-foot-10 power forward for the Lakers.
NBA fans' reactions to the video were conflicted; they either applauded Davis for his workout or made fun of him for his technique and injury history. Some spectators made light of the fact that Davis is only one punch away from missing the upcoming season, while others questioned the matchup between him and a much smaller opponent.
Boxing is an excellent form of conditioning training and demonstrates AD's commitment to staying active and in shape. Given the foot problems AD experienced at the conclusion of the playoffs, the fact that he can move so easily in a boxing ring is promising news for his recovery. It is anticipated that Davis would surpass LeBron as the Lakers' top choice.
Jalen Walker posted the boxing video featuring Davis on Instagram himself, with the caption “I had a fun time sparring @anthonydavislaker 😂😂" He even tagged Davis’ teammate Lebron James and challenged him for a bout in the boxing ring, Walker wrote, " Yo @kingjames you got next 😂 ".

Davis, who turned 30 in March, is coming off a season that was marred by injuries and inconsistency. He missed 36 games due to a calf strain and a groin strain and averaged 25.9 points, 12.5 rebounds per game, and 2.6 assists per game, his lowest numbers since his rookie year. He also shot a career-low 25.7% from the three-point line.
Davis will look to bounce back next season and lead the Lakers to another championship run. Davis was named in the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, which honors the 75 greatest players in league history. Davis is one of the few active players on the list, along with LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, James Harden, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
