After trailing to a six-point lead in the first half, LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers to a thrilling comeback against the Houston Rockets at the Crypto.com Arena on Sunday night. The four-time NBA champions buried a free throw to take a one-point lead with 1.9 seconds remaining to beat the Rockets in the 2023-24 NBA regular season.

The Rockets center Alperen Sengun became the youngest player in franchise history to reach 2K+ points, 1K+ rebounds, and 500+ assists in a career at 21 years and 117 days old. With these statistics, Sengun surpassed former Rockets forward  Rodney McCray, who had the record under his name at the age of 24 years and 58 days.

The Lakers held their nerves to win the game against the Rockets on Sunday after Sengun leveled the game with just four seconds remaining. However, the 38-year-old LeBron, who was fouled on a reverse and received two free throws with 1.9 seconds remaining, scored one to lift the Lakers over the Rockets.

In the win against the Rockets, LeBron James registered  37 points with  14-of-19 from the field, eight assists, six rebounds, and three steals. In the fourth quarter, the Lakers star forward pulled off his clutch game and scored 13 points with 5-of-6 from the field. Apart from him, Anthony Davis recorded 27 points (73.3% FG) and 10 rebounds with two steals and a block, however, the Lakers center was fouled out in the fourth quarter.

Austin Reaves scored 17 points, nine of which were in the final quarter, with 5-of-7 from the field followed by six assists and rebounds each.

For the Rockets, Dillon Brooks registered a team-high 24 points with four steals and scoring 6-of-11 from beyond the arc. Alperen Sengun followed with 23 points (68.8 FG), 10 rebounds, five assists, and a block while Fred VanVleet registered a double-double with 15 points and 16 assists.
