In the Vitality Blast 2023 North Group match, Louis Kimber pulled off an incredible piece of fielding for Leicestershire at the Grace Road in Leicester. It ended up being a back and forth game, which was ultimately won by Yorkshire with a 30-run margin.

For the unversed, on June 6, during the 17th over of the Yorkshire batting innings, Michael Finan of Leicestershire bowled a length delivery to Ben Mike, who lofted it straight towards the long-on boundary. The fielder in the deep, Louis Kimber covered a lot of distance to reach the ball just in the nick of time. He then jumped in the air to catch the ball and get rid of it before tumbling over the rope.

The fielding effort from the 26-year-old was enough to save four runs for Leicestershire, as Ben Mike and his non-striking partner David Wiese managed to pick up only two runs. The fans and teammates of Louis Kimber at Grace Road appreciated the good work from him on the field.

Meanwhile, before the rear guard action from Ben Mike and David Wiese, which took Yorkshire to a respectable score of 156/7, at one stage, the team were reduced to 78/7 in the 14th over.

At one point in the run chase, Leicestershire were 73-2 and looked like chasing the target successfully. But Yorkshire bowlers ran riot in the second half of the innings to bundle out the opposition for 126 runs to attain a comfortable win away from home.
