Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka lost his cool on captain KL Rahul after the team faced a heartbreaking 10-wicket loss to SunRisers Hyderabad. The teams met for a completely one-sided game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 8, Wednesday. The game resulted in an easy win for the Orange Army, owing to the on-field brilliance of Travis Head, 89* off 30, and Abhishek Sharma (75* off 28).
After the game, LSG captain KL Rahul had to face public humiliation after the franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka scolded him for the loss. In videos doing rounds on social media, Goenka was seen lashing out at Rahul before the coach Justin Langer joined the ongoing animated one-sided conversation. Rahul was visibly uncomfortable, and he left the conversation as soon as Langer came.

Such conversations should happen behind closed doors: Experts voice opinions on Sanjiv Goenka’s behaviour
Cricket experts, including Scott Styris, voiced their opinions after Sanjiv Goenka’s heated outburst at KL Rahul. Commentators from the Jio Cinema panel said, “You always feel these conversations should be happening behind closed doors. There are so many cameras around the stadium and they miss nothing. You know KL Rahul is now gonna go to the press conferences and other things and potentially explain what’s been discussed here.”
Former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris lauded KL Rahul for maintaining his composure and said, “He has done well to keep his cool here. I think you are bang on.”
