Cricket enjoys a different kind of fan following in India, and it is the reason cricketers are considered no less than superstars among Indian fans. While the fans go to any extent to express their love for their favourite cricketers with heartwarming gestures, sometimes they end up crossing boundaries and making the cricketers uncomfortable. One such incident took place recently when a fan made a vague request from the Mumbai Indians’ skipper Rohit Sharma. When the Mumbai Indians squad was at an airport while travelling, a fan ended up going too close to Sharma.
He asked Sharma if he could kiss the fan on his cheek, leaving the 36-year-old clearly surprised, and his reaction said it all. He somehow avoided him and managed to get into the team bus. The captain of the record-time IPL winners, Rohit Sharma leads the Indian cricket team in all the formats. The Mumbai-born enjoys a huge fan following and has brought several laurels to the nation. Speaking of his stint in the Indian Premier League as the MI’s captain, he has been leading the team since 2013.

In the 2023 season, his team will next clash against SunRisers Hyderabad in their last home league match on May 21, Sunday, at the iconic Wankhede. It is a must-win game for the home team, as a defeat will crash them out of the playoff race for the season. MI currently sit at the sixth spot on the points table with 14 points from seven wins in the season. On the flip side, speaking of their rivals, the SunRisers Hyderabad have already been knocked out of the tournament, and are now aiming to finish their season on a victorious note.
